Teddy style joined our custom lineup in Spring 2020. It pairs a satisfyingly squishy head and body with big, sweet shining eyes and weighted, floppy arms and legs. Soft, huggable, and cuddle-safe, Teddies are the perfect companion for conventions and bedtime alike. They’re deluxe plushes that you can still PLAY with.

Teddies are BIG! <3

Size:
Height: 12" + ears/horns (usually ~14-16" total)
Head Width: ~8" + ears/horns
Head Depth: ~8"
Weight: 1.2 lb+

Materials:
Each Teddy plush is made from Minky with plastic beadfill weight in its paws and butt, polyester stuffing to fill it, large (25-27mm) acrylic eyes, and a cute little plastic nose. We also use specialty materials and techniques as the design requires: fleece, lycra, armature and wire, metal or plastic studs for piercings, fashion fabrics for clothes, and more.

Adaptability:
Teddy has grown to encompass a truly impressive range of species and body features. Special modifications like Tall body, Fat body, Dragon face, Round face, Animal Crossing body, and more, have been developed to answer the needs of every original design and fursona we’ve created. Teddy was originally enlarged and adapted from a Teacup Lion pattern, and now can represent nearly any species. We’ve made dogs, wolves, cats big and small, foxes, dragons, Dutch Angel Dragons, sharks, monsters, hippos, mice, monsters, rabbits, hyenas, pit bulls, deer, goo monsters, passerines and parrots, an octopus, a Kamen Rider, and even a Xenomorph!

Pricing: the Teddy base price is $350 for a design with simple markings and color changes which requires minimal extra drafting (such as specialized tails, wings, etc). The price increases with design complexity, averaging $600 and occasionally hitting $800-$1200 for the most complex designs or for Teddies who are also getting their own bespoke wardrobe and props!

Example: Gale here combines several levels of complexity. Her body shows a lack of complex detail and coloration changes, and her hairstyle is relatively simplistic. But other elements require specialty patterning and additional effort: the uniquely shaped ears, the appliqued cheek markings, the feathered tail made of fleece, and the fleece feathering down her spine.

While her body is relatively simple, her tail and spine are very complex, so in total, Gale displays an above-average degree of complexity. If I was commissioned to make Gale, she would cost approximately $500.
